God’s appointed leaders of His people had to meet four qualifications before they could be rulers: · They must be able men, qualified to be leaders · They must fear God · They must be truthful · They must hate covetousness. God provided blood offerings for the sins of the high priest, who was the ruler in the spiritual realm. The LORD also provided a “kid goat” for sin offering blood for the king, the ruler in the natural realm. The last chapter of this book provides examples of rulers and their temptations. All the types of Old Testament blood sacrifices and their power temporarily to cover and cleanse rulers were fulfilled in the Blood of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Christ’s Crucified Blood and Resurrected Blood have been put on the Mercy Seat in the heavenly Temple, providing eternal cleansing for all people for all classes of sinful offenses.
