Sermon 1435 - Guilt and Conviction - 2nd Message…..(Fri pm 4/26/96)
By using the example of a tree, this lesson continues explaining how guilt and conviction work in our life. We confess the “fruit” of our guilt, but God wants us to get down to the “branches” and the “root” of our sin as the Holy Ghost convicts us. Adam-male made apologetic confession, saying, “I did it, but it really was not my fault.” Adam-male blamed God, and he blamed his wife. Our desire is the lust to be right under the headship of the big “I” of Idolatry in our unconscious will. Several compulsive behaviour traits of guilt are as follows: spending, eating, being a workaholic, sleeping, lying, talking, and listening to the radio all the time.
